Comfort Isn't "Letting Yourself Go"
There’s something I’ve learned after years of being a mom: I don’t want clothes that make me work harder.
I want the soft tee. The broken-in sweatshirt. And the jeans I can actually move in. I need the outfit I can throw on when I’m running errands, sitting at the ball field, heading to the grocery store, or just trying to make it through the day because motherhood is already busy enough. What I'm wearing doesn't need to add any stress to my life!
That’s a big part of why I love this butterfly camo tee so much. Look how it just goes with anything and anywhere we go! From golf cart rides at the farm and shopping with the girls to my son's shooting competition. I love wearing it with biker shorts on the warm days or wide-legged jeans on the cooler days. Somewhere along the way, comfy clothes got a bad reputation. Like comfort meant tacky or slouchy. As moms, we often hear that we need to put ourselves together to "help our mental health". To look polished. To get dressed. To make an effort. And yes, I love getting dressed up sometimes. But I also believe there is something really beautiful about choosing clothes that let you live your actual life.
Why Comfort Matters in Mom Life
Comfort doesn't mean you don't care about how you look. Listen, moms have to bend over a LOT. We are loading the cars. Unloading the cars. Loading the kids. Unloading the kids. Let's not even mention all the STUFF and all the things that spill we must clean up in the middle of the parking lots. Our outfits have to move with us and also allow for stains, wrinkles, and even stickers being stuck on them. Speaking from experience, unfortunately. This is why I live in graphic tees. Tees work with the things moms are actually wearing like denim, shorts, leggings, sneakers, boots, whatever the day calls for. You can size up or size down depending on how you're styling it and you CAN make graphic tees elevated and dressy!
How Things Fit our Mom Bodies Matters
Throughout my 30's and growing our graphic apparel company, I LIVED in a graphic tee or sweatshirt. As I am now in my early 40's, I don't feel like I'm "too old" for them. I have to say, back then I loved a thinner tee with shorts and skinny jeans that were in style. Nowadays, we don't print our designs on many pieces that are thinner or clingy as wide-legged bottoms are more on trend for moms. We need boxy tees. We need thicker tees. We need tees we can cut if we want. Moms on the go have to have options, but simple options! So I love creating those no-brainer tees we can easily style for our body types and head out the door!
No Complicated Outfit Required
I want to be able to look stylish, but be able to move while I'm doing mom things without constantly thinking about my clothes. I want to sit on the floor. I want to chase my kids around. I want to run errands and be spontaneous. I want to travel. I want to spend the day outside or at the lake. I want to make memories. And I want to feel comfortable while I'm doing all of it. That's what I think graphic tees should be about. And I know most of my mom friends and customers feel the same exact way. The camo tees we offer have been such a hit since the Spring and I think it's because the fit is great for most body types and these can be cut if they are too long for you. I have LIVED in mine all summer.
